these are a few of my favorite things...

So apparently I'm not so good at the whole blogging thing. :) It is just a lot more interesting to read about other people's lives than to write about my own. Not to mention the fact that my camera is broken and lets be honest...who likes reading a blog that lacks pictures?

So, lots of updates since the last post in July....the biggest probably being that I'm employed now! (No one appreciates this more than my dad...and his wallet ;) haha). I am a pediatric nurse at Primary Children's Medical Center in SLC. I work on the Children's Surgical Unit and its pretty awesome. I love my job most days of the week.

I also have a baby of my own now...complete with an engine and four wheels! He has yet to be named, so any ideas would be fabulous. I do love him so much though. He kinda looks like the picture below. Indeed, children are expensive. ;)

What else is new? Oh yes, I am no longer a resident of Provo. Bummer, I know. I don't miss the ridiculous BYU housing, but I do miss all my friends there. Definitely had some fabulous times. So now I live in Salt Lake. Visitors are always welcome so come by anytime to see the new place. My roommates are fun and we are trying to enjoy the new scene...not loving the 30-some-odd-year-old, grossly facial bearded men that seem to be in abundance around here though. Bummer!Conference weekend was, of course, fabulous. Had family and friends over at the house enjoying it and even went to the Sunday AM sesh with everyone. Loved it!

Heard from one of the besties today. She is in Australia on a mission. Definitely miss her lots. Now that I'm working and making bank, I'm thinking of picking her up in a little over a year in Australia. Not a bad idea, eh?

And last but not least, still lovin' on this little guy. He is a-dor-able. Best part: I can give him back to the parents anytime he gets cranky. :)

Stay tuned for future fantastic updates of my life (even if it does take 3 months)...does anyone even read this??

my life be like...

Life as an unemployed college graduate has allowed me the chance to travel this summer with family and friends...something that I won't be able to enjoy as often when I finally get a job, assuming that ever happens! :)

First was the big post-grad x2/welcome home from the mish/family vacay. We went on a Caribbean cruise to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. Ummm, can I please just live on a cruise ship and travel the world? It was FABULOUS! Jamaican accents, unlimited amounts of delicious food, endless rays of sunshine, and being with the fam...how could it not be amazing?! Ryan, Michelle, Skyler, and I went down to Florida a few days before the cruise to play. We went to the Florida Keys while we were there.

The beautiful Cayman Islands where we snorkeled

After getting back from the cruise, Chaddie Ray and I went up North to visit the family in Idaho. It was a quick trip but great seeing the family again. We went to a park and played and ate all day to celebrate Memorial Day.

Next destination: Mesa, AZ via roadtrip with some of the besties. Meg, Steve, Benji and I went down for a quick getaway over the 4th of July. It was a long drive, but hours of "Would you Rather...," the alphabet game, and 21 helped the time pass. The Merrill family was so welcoming and made sure we always had something to do. We celebrated the 4th of July in the hot hot hot Arizona sun. Nothing as fun as sweating profusely while you watch fireworks at 10 pm. Mmm, loved it. :)
R-r-r-roadtrip to AZ!

And finally, last week I went up to Montana to visit my other grandparents and spend a long, relaxing week with the fam. We worked on some projects around the house, saw HP6, and played Village Idiot til the wee hours of the morning. Thank heavens for my i-Pod...it definitely came in use with 4 kids during an 8 hour drive home!

I don't remember the last time I traveled so many places in such a short time. It's been fantastic! Maybe getting a job really is over-rated...

Angie Thueson, RN!!

I took my nursing licensing exam, the NCLEX, last Thursday, July 2. I have heard so many horror stories about it and after the computer turned off in 75 questions I was afraid that I had failed. It was ROUGH! But, I found out on the 4th of July that I PASSED!!! I am officially, FINALLY a registered nurse and couldn't be more excited! I was in Arizona for the 4th with some friends when I found out so Steve's family had a little "Nurse Day" celebration for me...nursing cap, band-aids, and certificate included. Loved it.

In other news, I have been busy traveling the world since I last updated my blog. I need to get pictures and update the blogging world...soon, I promise!

oh what a week!

I can't even believe it...I am a college graduate and my little brother is home from his mission. Its been a crazy week! After working 70+ hours for finals week at the testing center, I was worn out by the time graduation came around. Commencement was on Thursday last week and Friday was the College of Nursing convocation. Graduation was nice and I'm excited to be done. I can't believe I won't be a student anymore. Definitely mixed emotions but I sure won't miss the stress of homework, tests, and finals! Now on to finding a job...which I'd rather not talk about. :) But I'm hoping to find something soon. YAY FOR GRADUATING!

Then Monday was the blessed day that we've been counting down for. Chaddie Ray came home on Monday afternoon! It was good to see him again and fun to watch him trying to adjust being home. I'm trying to convince he wants to go to school at BYU in the Fall. :) It is fun to finally have the family home together again. It's been a fab week. And now the countdown to the cruise is ON!! Can't wait to soak up the sunny rays on the warm Jamaican beaches. :)

I will be here in two short weeks....go ahead and be jealous!

i finally caved...

its true, i am joining the blogging world. i was always opposed to being a blogger myself (although i love reading updates on other people's blogs). but here i am...blogging. perhaps it is because i am now school-less (yay graduation!) and jobless (boo on the economy!) and i have way too much free time as a result. regardless, welcome to my blog!
